My Philosophy

My philosophy for defending people charged with crimes is that everyone
makes mistakes, including government.

Numerous times as a prosecutor I had to investigate elected officials and
law enforcement officers for wrongdoing.

My Experience

My experience as an elected prosecutor allows me to view inside law
enforcement investigations and government policy.  This provides me an
advantage beyond other criminal defense lawyers and former assistant
prosecutors.

I have handled every phase of criminal cases as both a defense attorney and
a prosecutor. This includes:

.Interrogation
.Grand Jury
.Contested Pre-Trial Jury Trial
.Appeal
.Post Conviction Relief

Advanced Training

I have been fortunate enough to receive advanced training above and beyond
what most attorneys receive.

I have trained at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina,
on multiple occasions. This includes pre-course study and simulated trials
with video taped critiques.

I have also undergone similar training at the National Institute for Trial
Advocacy in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I am trained in Behavioral Analysis Interview and Interrogation by Reid &
Associates from Chicago, Illinois, which is part of the training received by
many detectives and private investigators.

I am also certified in the operation of the Intoxilyzer, the breath test
machine used in Minnesota for DWI / DUI investigation.
